Security Trainings and Walk-Throughs

Four times a year House of Worship Security Training’s are hosted in various locations around the county. To be updated on the next event please subscribe to the newsletter or email interfaith@montgomerycountymd.gov.

You can also invite a police officer to conduct a walk-through of your house of worship to give recommendations. For more information reach out to your local police precinct or email interfaith@montgomerycountymd.gov.

Montgomery County Grant for Security Needs of Nonprofits

Grant cycle opens in the fall, and notice will be shared through newsletter. Please subscribe to be updated on information sessions and when the grant is open.

Grants will be awarded to nonprofit organizations and facilities that have experienced, or are at high risk of experiencing, hate crimes. These grants are available to augment costs for security personnel or other security planning measures.

Eligible organizations could include nonprofit community service providers, houses of worship, or other faith-based organizations located in Montgomery County. The funds are administered by the County’s Office of Emergency Management and Homeland Security (OEMHS).
